But Adam Cook, his Democratic opponent in this fall’s election for the 1st District seat—who once helped make those decisions in Afghanistan—says Wittman is politicizing the issue and undercutting military leaders’ authority.

Equality of Opportunity? Blog
Many prominent Republicans, including House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan and Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, like to talk about their belief in “equality of opportunity,” usually in contrast to Democrats’ supposed advocacy for “equality of outcome.” While this claimed difference may make for a good sound bite, it does not bear any relationship to the actual policies advocated for by either party. For starters, no Democrat that I’m aware of has ever advocated for a guarantee that all Americans receive an equal outcome in life regardless of their skills, work ethic or the decisions that they make over their lifetime.
